Awnings, pergolas and open sheds

An awning is a thick protruding shelter or roof, usually made of concrete, wood, steel or aluminium and serving to provide protection from sun, rain or falling objects. Pergola is a horizontal grid of concrete, wooden or metal elements disposed on vertical supports. Pergola can be covered with glass, cloth or by plants which are planted next to it. It has rather decorative function. An open shed is a sort of roof made out of different roofing materials and supported by columns. Its function is associated with protection from bad weather conditions.

Stainless steel awnings, pergolas and open sheds

The name of the steel awnings comes from the type of material used for their construction. They are made of structural steel with square or rectangular cross-section and a wall thickness of at least 2 mm. The already cut steel profiles are being welded according to the selected design configuration, then sanded, cleaned, degreased and subjected to electrostatic powder coating. For greater corrosion resistance and durability of steel components it is recommend before painting the metal work to let it undergo a galvanizing/zincing. Steel awnings are characterized by their high strength and low prices.

Polycarbonate

Polycarbonate

Solid or structural polycarbonate boards there are being mounted on the steel structure. These panels are characterized by their high strength in terms of their low weight, wide temperature resistance range and high light transmittance. Polycarbonate is an elastic, robust polymer (200-300 times better impact resistance than glass) with excellent hydro and heat-insulating properties, UV protection and good resistance to bad atmospheric conditions. Polycarbonate boards are being pressed to the aluminium structure by special aluminium profiles, clamped with waterproof screws for maximum durability in case of strong winds and heavy snowfalls.

Sandwich panels

Sandwich panels

Sandwich panels are easily assembled elements with excellent thermal insulation properties and high resistance to weathering. They consist of two layers of steel sheet metal and an insulation of polyurethane, mineral wool or Styrofoam between them with a total thickness between 30 and 200mm. They are being mounted on the steel construction by waterproof screws. They are characterized by low weight, very good insulating features and high level of resistance from atmospheric conditions.

Glass and double glass panes.

Glass is a stylish and durable solution for your awning. With maximum light transmittance and clear vision, glass protects from all atmospheric influences without getting damaging effects on its surface. Glass used in combination with aluminium awnings, pergolas and open sheds has a thickness of minimum 6 mm, and depending on the desired light opening it can reach up to 22 mm. and more. Required procedures for maximum durability and safe exploitation of these products are hardening or laminating of glass panels. It can be colored, mirrored or mechanically or chemically matted. For a better thermal and acoustic insulation glass can be assembled in form of glass panes, as the top glass is being hardened and the bottom glass - being laminated.

Hydrophobic plywood with voalit or bitumen tiles

Awning or open shed made out of steel construction, hydrophobic plywood with Voalit or bitumen tiles is the closest structure to the monolithic roof. Hydrophobic plywood is extremely robust and with an outstanding resistance to adverse weather conditions.Volait or bitumen tiles on the other side are elastic and waterproof, with good physical and mechanical properties and standing high temperature fluctuations. The resulting combination of steel profiles, hydrophobic plywood and wool has a long life and does not need any maintenance. For better thermal insulation and finishing effect, the steel construction can be covered underneath with mineral glass wool and sealed with gypsum board or other suspended ceiling.

Sheet metal

Sheet metal

The steel structure of the awnings and open sheds can be covered with corrugated, plasticized or aluminium sheet metal with a thickness between 0.8 and 2 mm. Sheet metal can be painted by electrostatic powder painting in different colors according to the RAL catalogue.

Inox awnings, pergolas and open sheds

The Inox awnings, pergolas and open sheds are made of profiled stainless steel X 6 CrNi 18 10 with a wall thickness at least 2 mm. After cutting of stainless profiles at a certain angle they are welded by TIG welding in order to achieve the best durability and reliability of the supporting structure. One of the best features of stainless steel is its high level of corrosion resistance. No need of maintenance and painting. To achieve optimal effect the welded structure can be finished by additional treatments such as satin effect or polishing.

Stainless metal sheet

The steel structure of the awnings and open sheds can be covered by stainless steel metal sheet with a thickness between 0.8mm to 2 mm. Metal sheet can be satinated or polished by special abrasive washers and polishing pastes.

Aluminium awnings, pergolas and open sheds

The aluminium profiles used for manufacturing of awnings, pergolas and open sheds are known by their durability, high corrosion resistance and low weight. They could be highly system specialized or standard ones with thick walls and square or rectangular cross- section and wall thickness not less than 2 mm. Cut out by specialized saw blades, they can be assembled either by welding or by bolt or screw connection. The already manufactured aluminium structure can be painted by electrostatic powder coating in rich colors or wooden decorative effects

The aluminium construction of the hoods and sheds can be covered with a composite panel consisting of two aluminium sheets bonded from a polyethylene core. The composite aluminium panel is durable, light of weight, flexible, with good insulation properties and easy to fit in different configurations. It does not let sun light and is resistant to outdoor weather conditions.

Aluminium sheet metal is suitable for awnings and open sheds with small overall dimensions. This kind of sheet metal can be painted by electrostatic powder painting in different colors according to the RAL catalogue.

  1. Design and dimensioning of awnings, pergolas and open sheds

    Design and dimensioning

After the exact dimensions and angles measuring of the product have been taken by our qualified technician, a preliminary design project is being made, including the type and size of the profiles for the supporting structure, its attachment to the reinforced concrete structure of the building, the type of roofing material, the hydro-isolating elements and the color combination chosen by the customer.

  2. Manufacturing of awnings, pergolas and open sheds

    Manufacturing

After the 3D design project’s been made the designer submits a working blueprint to our workshop for manufacturing of the desired product. There follows optimization and cutting of the chosen material as specified in the working blueprint and its subsequent assembly, either by welding, bolt or screw connection. The painting of the metal works of the awnings, pergolas and open sheds is done by electrostatic application of powder polymeric anticorrosive and decorative coatings and following firing in thermoregulated furnaces.

  3. Delivery of awnings, pergolas and open sheds

    Delivery

The delivery of the manufactured product and the materials for installation to the site is being done by specialized transport vehicles for such purposes. To avoid scratches and injuries, of awnings, pergolas and open sheds are being packed with transport foil.

  4. Installation of awnings, pergolas and open sheds

    Installation

After all materials have been delivered to the site, the product is being assembled. Our experienced installers have the most advanced professional equipment to achieve the required accuracy and ease of installation works. We work exclusively with high quality materials and do not compromise with the quality of the fixing, sealing, waterproofing adhesives and sealing compounds we use. After completing of the installation, the site is being cleaned from waste materials, filings and packaging foil.
